Rockies players bowl over crowd for charity

August 11, 2014

Colorado Rockies player Carlos Gonzalez, Troy Tulowitzki, Charlie Blackman, Michael Cuddyer, Jhoulys Chacin, Nolan Arenado, Charlie Culberson, Tyler Chatwood and Wilin Rosario, tested their bowling arms at Lucky Strike in the Denver Pavilions last week to support the Carlos Gonzalez Foundation’s first annual Stars And Strikes Celebrity Bowling Classic.

Guests noshed on Lucky Strike’s coconut shrimp, grilled cheese sliders, jerk sliders, Belgian fries, salmon lollipops and a buffet with barbecued and grilled vegetarian pizza. The players bowled, played ping-pong and pool, took pictures with guests and participated in the silent and live auction benefiting the Carlos Gonzalez Foundation, the Boys and Girls Club of Colorado and Denver Children’s Advocacy Center.

Other notables in attendance were Matt Barnes (Los Angeles Clippers), Scott Hastings (former NBA player), Vinnie Castilla (former Colorado Rockies player) and Ryan Spilborghs (Rockies broadcaster and former Rockies player).
