Sway your sweetheart with music on Valentine’s Day

January 22, 2014

Music. Champagne. Chocolate. The Colorado Symphony has it all this Valentine’s Day.

The Colorado Symphony Guild hosts “Love Your Symphony,” a pre-concert reception and fundraiser on Friday, February 14. “Love Your Symphony” is a celebration of love and music that supports the mission of the Colorado Symphony, the premiere orchestra of the Rocky Mountain west. The Colorado Symphony Guild will honor Yumi-Hwang Williams, Colorado Symphony concertmaster, with a presentation and will be held at the Four Seasons Denver Hotel, 1111 14th St., from 5-7 p.m.

“Love Your Symphony” is a romantic precursor to the Love & Lust Masterworks program on stage at Boettcher Concert Hall February 14-16. Love & Lust features conductor Mark Wigglesworth and a special guest appearance by Midori, one of the world’s most renowned violinists and a Colorado audience favorite. The program features Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor, and Wagner’s episodic, sensual Tristan and Isolde, an orchestral passion.

“Love Your Symphony” guests will enjoy champagne, appetizers, chocolates by Enstrom’s and flowers by Bouquets. The Jackson Stevens Trio will perform.

Tickets are $40 for existing Love & Lust/Masterworks ticket holders. Ticket packages for the reception and concert are $80. A “sweetheart” offer includes a pair of tickets to the reception and concert for $150.

Tickets are available via www.coloradosymphony.org, by calling 303-623-7876, and in person at the Colorado Symphony Box Office, located inside Boettcher Concert  Hall in the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Valet parking is available for $8 at the Four Seasons Hotel.
