Lighthouse Writers Workshop free and open to the public

January 24, 2014

Lighthouse Writers Workshop invites the public to celebrate the launch of its community-wide reading program this evening. Lighthouse’s Big Read program will include a series of events related to the critically-acclaimed novel “Housekeeping” by Pulitzer-Prize winning author Marilynne Robinson.

The kick-off party today will feature Stories on Stage reading excerpts from the novel, music provided by Swallow Hill, and light refreshments at the McNichols Civic Center Building, 144 W. Colfax. Admission is free.

Guests will receive copies of the book (as long as supplies last), and will be able to sign up for book discussions and writing workshops. Jamie Van Leeuwen, Gov. John Hickenlooper’s deputy chief of staff, will also say a few words.

For more information on this event, please contact Lighthouse at: bigread@lighthousewriters.org.
