Gov. Hickenlooper announces Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012

Gov. John Hickenlooper today announced the creation of the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012 benefiting those affected by Colorado wildfires. The funds will assist all Colorado communities impacted by wildfires in 2012 and will complement ongoing efforts at www.helpcoloradonow.org.

“Coloradans are at their best when they work together to help each other in difficult times,” Hickenlooper said. “We’ve established this fund in response to the outpouring of support from the community to help out our neighbors affected by these wildfires.”

Individuals, air jordan 5 foundations and corporations may contribute through the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012 at The Denver Foundation. These funds will be administered and distributed by a committee of community foundation executives appointed by the governor.

 Additional activities that will help the Colorado Fire Relief Fund 2012 include:

  • Individuals can text the word FIRE to 80000 to give $10 through the mGive Colorado Fire Fund. AT&T is providing the inaugural donation in support of the mGive.
  • Independence Eve, a fireworks display and Colorado Symphony concert, through the Civic Center Conservancy will support fire relief efforts on the evening of July 3 in Denver’s Civic Center Park.
  • AEG Live Rocky Mountains will host a series of VIP Experiences with Alan Jackson, Avett Brothers, Blue’s Traveler and Foster the People and other events.
