Turn on 9News pronto to catch the NBC Nightly News segment beginning at 5:30 on Russell Taylor’s wish to return to Normandy, France, which was fulfilled by Jeremy Bloom’s Wish of a Lifetime and Brookdale Senior Living.
The two agencies sent Russell and wife, Odile, to France in April to visit the place they me and to renew their vows after 66 years of marriage. Accompanied by the grandson of General George Patton – Ben Patton and Bloom, a retired skier and football player, spent time touring their favorite places in Paris then headed to Normandy to see the American cemetery and the beaches.
Taylor landed at Utah Beach in WWII as a member of the Army Signal Corps. He followed General Patton’s Third Army from Normandy to Paris, patching up communication for the Army during the journey. He met and married Odile in Paris.
