Root on the Colorado Mammoths during Saturday’s game and win a piece of pizza

As an official sponsor of the Colorado Mammoths National Lacrosse League team at the Pepsi Center, Anthony’s Pizza & Pasta is promoting fan fever with an in-game text promotion.

If the Mammoths beat the Rochester Nighthawks on Saturday, Anthony’s will give a free slice of pizza with the purchase of a slice and a fountain drink to fans who text LACROSSE to 50500 during the game. If the Mammoths lose, fans will still win a free soda with the purchase of a slice of pizza.

The promotion runs during the game and at store hours on Sunday.

Former ‘SNL’ star and ‘Late Night’ host Seth Meyers brings his comedy to Colorado

The Zarlengo Foundation presents Seth Meyers, the new host of NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers,” live at The Ellie Caulkins Opera House on Sept. 13.

Tickets are $49.50 to $59.50 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 28.

Proceeds will benefit The Zarlengo Foundation, a Colorado-based 501(c) 3 non-profit organization whose guiding principle is to support families of learning disabled children.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to schools and programs in the community that provide specialized education for children with learning disabilities, including but not limited to language-based, attention and nonverbal disabilities such as dyslexia and attention deficit disorder.

He joined NBC as the host of “Late Night With Seth Meyers” on Feb. 24.

Meyers began his TV career with “Saturday Night Live” in 2001. Currently completing his 13th season on the comedy program, he has served as head writer for nine seasons and “Weekend Update” anchor for eight seasons.

A graduate of Northwestern University, Meyers studied and performed at ImprovOlympic before moving on to the Boom Chicago Theater in Amsterdam, Holland. His acclaimed show “Pick-ups and Hiccups,” with partner Jill Benjamin, toured Europe and eventually caught the eye of “SNL.”

Everyone’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and The Curtis Hotel is amping up the mood

And speaking of celebrations, don’t wait all night to get lucky this St. Patrick’s Day – after Denver’s big parade on March 15, dance an Irish jig down to the Curtis — a Doubletree by Hilton for the first ever ShamRocks party.

ShamRocks attendees can enjoy all-you-can-drink beer and all-you-can-eat chicken wings and French fries. The event also will feature Highland Dancers with bagpipes and a drum line; each guest will also receive a commemorative beer mug.

Entertainment for the afternoon includes Denver’s Dirty Femmes as the opening act, followed by headliner singer/songwriter Rob Drabkin, plus DJ Rockstar Aaron spinning Irish Rock and today’s hottest hits.

ShamRocks will be held from noon to 5 p.m. on March 15 (two days before the official March 17 St. Patrick’s Day) inside the new Curtis Four Square Ballroom, which features a 2,500 square foot outdoor patio with a built-in bar and a fire pit.

Mardi Gras party will be hearty at Dave & Busters

Mardi Gras Denver is happening this Saturday at Dave & Busters at 2000 Colorado Blvd. from 7 p.m. till midnight

The restaurant/amusement park is closing down the entire venue for this event.

Attendees must be at least 21 to attend this party.

The entertainment includes a carnival of music, games, entertainers and, of course, beads! DJ’s, dance floors and styles of music including 80’s, Mash Up, Top 40, Dub Step, Techno and Hip Hop.

Masks are highly encouraged as are guests in costume; preferred Mardi Gras colors are  gold, purple and green.

Tickets are $10 for the ladies; $20 for men.

McGinley is most notable for his roles as Perry Cox in ‘Scrubs,’ Bob Slydell in ‘Office Space,’ Captain Hendrix in the ‘The Rock,’ Sergeant Red O’Neill in Oliver Stone’s ‘Platoon’ and Marv in Stone’s ‘Wall Street.’ ” His most recent role was playing sportscaster Red Barber in the Jackie Robinson biopic, “42.”

He’s in town for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation event, Be Beautiful, Be Yourself Fashion Show.
