You can enjoy a night in historic Lower Downtown, walk the neighborhood and enjoy small bites of the restaurants’ fare during LoDo Bites. At each stop, participants will enjoy varied cuisines with some restaurants offering select wine, drink specials and signature desserts.

This popular annual event in LoDo will return on Tuesday, June 25 from 5 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance, $45 the day of the event. Your ticket assigns you a restaurant indicating where to begin your tour. From there, you have up to four hours to sample the fare of 25 LoDo restaurants, bite by bite. Limited tickets will be sold, so don’t miss out on this hot ticket.

Participating restaurants for the event, sponsored by LoDo District, Inc., include some of Denver’s finest, such as Bistro Vendome, Euclid Hall, Coohills, TAG, The Squeaky Bean and Vesta Dipping Grill.

Elway’s is flying high

Elway’s DIA opens for airport travelers starting Monday. Here are the facts:

Elway’s opens at the Center Court on concourse B at Denver International Airport on Monday, June 10. The opening coincides with United Airlines’ maiden flight from Denver to Tokyo.

Elway’s DIA, the fourth location for the steakhouse chain (the original in Cherry Creek, Downtown at the Ritz-Carlton and in Vail), will be open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant will seat approximately 147 guests, with a main dining area, bar seating and a patio.

Hotel Monaco has pride

In celebration of Denver’s annual PrideFest taking place June 14-16 in downtown Denver, Hotel Monaco Denver is proud to announce it will be a participating sponsor of this event, which is the third-largest Pride festival in the country attracting more than 250,000 people all weekend. Hotel Monaco is Denver’s LGBT friendliest hotel and is offering guests a special “Beaming with Pride” package and Pride-focused wine hour that invites guests to enjoy Pride Weekend in true Kimpton style.

Come shop the Raid My Closet Pop-Up Sale

I’ve heard of pop-up restaurants, but pop-up clothing stores?

That’s what’s happening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at the former home of Eron Johnson Antiques at 451 Broadway, south of downtown Denver.

The pop-up sale will offer gently used clothing, shoes and accessories from some of the best-known brands — like Prada, Donald Pliner, Cole Haan, Calvin Klein, North Face and more.

Excelsior Youth Center makes a splash

Excelsior Youth Center, home to more than 140 girls who come from a variety of troubled backgrounds and situations, is throwing its annual swim party, Duck, Duck, SPLASH!, to open the pool and officially kick off swim season on Thursday, June 13.

While the swimming is solely for Excelsior residents, the party is open to anyone who would like to drop by, meet the girls and learn more about the facility and its programs.  Cash donations (tax deductible) are being accepted to help purchase swimsuits, caps, flip-flops, towels and water games. Everyone who stops by will receive a duck to participate in the annual duck race.  Donations can be made during the event or sent to Excelsior Youth Center, Swim Party, attn: Kathy Graveley, 15001 E. Rheinlander celebrates 50th with a heart

Rheinlander Bakery in Arvada is celebrating its 50th anniversary by “Baking Out Hunger” and will donate 50 percent of all proceeds to the Arvada Community Food Bank from June 6-9. Activities include a cake and ice cream social, German Kaffeeklatsch and silent auction evening, a cake cutting ceremony and a cookie decorating for kids.
