Breckenridge hosting Race of the Santas and town lighting ceremony Saturday

December 2, 2015

This weekend brings a Breckenridge holiday event that draws crowds from all over the country: Race of the Santas and the Lighting of Breckenridge. Every year, hundreds of people of all ages dress in Santa costumes to race down historic Main Street while enjoying carolers, milk and cookies and the Lighting of Breckenridge on Saturday.

A Holiday Craft Market at the Breckenridge Creative Arts District runs all weekend. Other activities include fat bike racing and visits with Santa. See a complete schedule of the weekend activities at www.gobreck.com/events/winter-holidays#horizontalTabEvents2.

Don’t have a Santa suit? They are available for purchase at the Breckenridge Welcome Center for $25. Race registration is $15, benefitting Adopt an Angel Summit County. Kids 12 and under get in for free, and are gifted antlers to wear, courtesy of Breckenridge.
