King Soopers’ big cheese and elected officials will cut the ribbon on a new King Soopers, 1950 Chestnut Place, the first full-service grocery store in LoDo, at 9 this morning.
The 46,475-square-foot store employs 150 people, and will cater to shoppers seeking freshness, variety and quick- meal solutions. The concept offers a food-centric shopping experience with fresh and fast-food choices for the busy downtown shopper.
King Soopers LoDo will feature fruits and vegetables from local growers, underlining decades of support for the thousands of locally sourced products that are available year round. More than 100 USDA-certified organic fruits and vegetables are available along with fresh pre-cut fruit and veggies. Selection of wheat, lactose and gluten-free products, and an assortment of natural and organic frozen meals, treats and snacks, including the Simple Truth store brand.
Boar’s Head Sandwich and Panini Shop offers hot, chef-prepared meals and sides, and the Chef Shop has entrées, vegetables and salads that are ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat. Fresh sushi made in store daily. Murray’s Cheese Shop offers 130 specialty cheeses.
The Butcher Shop offers in-house butchers for your cut to order options. It will have available natural and organic beef and poultry and natural pork. Private Selection Choice Angus Beef and Grass-Fed beef. Varieties of domestic lamb and veal along with Prime Grade beef cut to order. Assortment of thick, handmade gourmet burgers made in store daily.
The seafood market displays more than 50 varieties daily from around the world including salmon, swordfish, tuna, halibut, walleye, steelhead, shrimp, crab, live lobsters, oysters, littlenecks, clams and mussels. Fresh Fish Mongers will be available seven days a weekto help simplify your fresh selections.
The store features a Starbucks with its own entrance, and free Wi-Fi. Store hours will be 6 a.m. to midnight.
Immunizations, including tetanus, Hepatitis A and B, shingles and meningitis will be available, and more than 300 generic drugs will be sold for for $4. There are discounts on pet medications. Most insurance plans accepted, Medicare. Here you will also find your entire over the counter medicine needs. Pharmacy Hours: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
