Denver dwellers joined the rest of the world Tuesday in posting remembrances of comedy genius Robin Williams, who committed suicide Monday at age 63.
While it’s difficult to grapple with the depths of despair and depression that Williams was going through that would end with his death by his own hand, Facebook posters who had the privilege of meeting the kind and gentle man, opted to celebrate his life and his gift.
Here’s what my pal and Denver native Bradley Joseph posted on Facebook:
“I was fortunate to have met Robin Williams nearly 20+ years ago living in NYC, and was invited to the Sony Records Grammys after party at Roseland Ballroom. That evening I was introduced to Robin Williams (who) then took me under his wing and continued to introduce me to A-list celebrities that included Jack Nicholson, Sting, Cher, Trudie Stiler (Sting’s wife) and Ric Ocasek who (was) with his ’80s super model wife, Paulina Porizcova … Robin Williams was a kind soul and gave so much of himself especially to an unsuspecting 25-year-old like me. I will never forget you Mr. Williams.”
