The national recording artists, DUO del SOL (violin/guitar), return to Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret, 1601 Arapahoe St., at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
DUO del SOL has been compared to the classic rock band Radiohead, with a style that infuses a Gypsy jazz element reminiscent of the great French musicians, guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli.
Tickets are $22.
L.A. Weekly called DUO del SOL “Avant sonic acrobats. Now this Sound is Brave said of them, An … intoxicating swirl of classical forms … like a fine wine.”
Duo del Sol’s “hello Kaleiscope” was nominated last year for Best Instrumental Album by the Independent Music Awards and in 2014, they played at a Cannes International Film Festival event hosted by John Travolta.
Guitarist Tom Farrell’s musical beginnings were inspired by Black Sabbath, the Cult, Metallica, and Led Zeppelin and violinist Javier Orman says he is addicted to any form of powerful expressive music.
Tickets can be purchased at the box office at 303-293-0075 or online at www.Lannies.com.
