Givella, a new Denver-based mobile application launched this summer to support schools, nonprofit organizations and merchants, beginning with Denver-organizations and expanding nationally in the coming months.
Givella’s free mobile app is a frictionless way to raise money for a school or non-profit. Givella users simply download the app, select their preferred nonprofit and shop or dine at one of Givella’s partner merchants. The merchant then donates a portion of the transaction to the customer’s nonprofit; and with current contributions ranging from 5 to 10 percent, the donations can really add up.
The app is available in the iTunes App Store, and currently includes almost 30 participating merchants and nonprofits in the Northwest Denver community. The company intends to add many more, including national partners, before the end of the year.
Created by former executives from Whole Foods Market and nonprofits like I Have a Dream, Givella should alleviate a lot of the pain of fundraising for schools and non-profits, including resource challenges and “fundraising fatigue,” while also driving new business into merchants.
