Join Victoria Price, the daughter of famed actor Vincent Price and his wife, Mary, for a special dinner on Sunday inspired by the Price’s 1965 cookbook “A Treasury of Great Recipes”.
The cookbook was the eighth most searched for out-of-print book in North America in 2013 according to www.bookfinder.com.
Price will be autographing copies of the newly reprinted 50th anniversary edition of this classic with a new intro by Wolfgang Puck.
Bistro Vendôme chefs Adam Branz and Joe Pothier have created a menu inspired by “A Treasury of Great Recipes” titled, “elegant in its simple perfection.” Each course will be paired with an appropriate wine or cocktail.
Here’s the menu:
* Passed appetizers – Quiche Lorraine, mini hot dogs with onion soup mustard.
* First course – Dutch asparagus, ham, egg, butter.
* Second course – Dutch pea soup, crispy pig tail, crème frâiche.
* Third course – Pan seared trout, shrimp, mushrooms, truffle, parsley, lemon.
* Fourth course – Stuffed quail, chicken liver sausage, sauce diable.
* Fifth course – Sorbets de café or raspberry clafoutis.
