A New York architect has won the contest to create a design for the Stanley Hotel’s hedge maze, made famous in the movie “The Shining” (which was not filmed at the Estes Park hotel).
The hotel held a contest asking people around the world to submit ideas, and the winner, Mairim Dallaryan Standing, was selected from more than 300 entries from 34 countries.
Standing won two plane tickets, hotel accommodations and two all-access passes to the Stanley Film Festival, which will be held April 30 through May 3. The hotel will install the maze this spring to coincide with the Stanley Film Festival.
