Make someone’s day during Random Acts of Kindness Week

February 9, 2015

The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation has declared its annual celebration of kindness across the globe today through Sunday in hopes to flood social media with kindness and record 100,000 acts of kindness worldwide.

The Denver-based, non-profit organization was founded upon the belief in kindness and is dedicated to providing resources and tools that encourage acts of kindness worldwide.

Colorado has a special journey in this mission as Governor John Hickenlooper partnered with the non-profit organization at his inauguration to create Colorado’s own #StateofKind. Gov. Hickenlooper challenged his constituents to perform 10,000 random acts of kindness before the third annual Biennial of the Americas event on July 14.

What to do? Give, receive or witness an act of kindness. Post your photos, videos and stories using #StateOfKind and #RAKWeek2015 on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Or email them to Glinda@randomactsofkindness.org with the subject line #StateofKind.

Take this week to attempt a new random act of kindness each day of the celebratory week. Post and share your stories, photos, videos and ideas on your social media channels. If you need inspiration or more information, visit www.randomactsofkindness.org.

“I believe that people are happiest when they are helping others. In fact, today, we are announcing the Random Acts of Kindness campaign. Our hope – our goal – is that Coloradans will perform 10,000 random acts of kindness between now and July 14, which marks the start of third Biennial of the Americas in Denver,” Gov. Hickenlooper said at his Jan. 13 inauguration.
