Emmy award-winning fashion guru Tim Gunn and Denver’s own designer Mondo Guerra will headline fashion show fundraiser Goodwill En Vogue from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 26 at Denver Union Station. The event, featuring a fashion show put on by local high school students in Goodwill Denver’s programs, will be the first fashion show held at the recently restored historic Union Station.
Gunn, co-host and mentor of Lifetime’s “Project Runway” will join Guerra, winner of “Project Runway All-Stars” and local hometown hero, to raise funds to support Goodwill Industries of Denver’s career development programs.
“I’m beyond thrilled to take my relationship with Goodwill Industries of Denver to the next level at this incredible event. I have seen their community programs change lives for people in need in our community,” Guerra said. “This cause is close to my heart. I can’t wait to see what the student designers have put together this year.”
Guests will get a sneak peek at some of Denver’s up-and-coming young fashion designers during the event, which will feature upcyled designs by students from Goodwill’s youth programs at local high schools. The show will be emceed by Gunn and judged by Guerra and other guest judges. Area celebrities will also model clothing from Goodwill’s Déjà Blue Boutique.
The student winner will be eligible for an internship with Guerra. Past winner Kellehanna E’shawn completed her internship with Guerra and is currently his apprentice.
Tickets and VIP packages for Goodwill En Vogue are available at www.goodwilldenver.org/fashion. All proceeds from the event will benefit Goodwill ’s career development programs for at-risk students, struggling adults, and individuals with disabilities.
