Penny Parker On The Town: Larimer Square film series kicks off Thursday

June 5, 2013

Larimer Square is revving up for summer with a new event series aimed at foodies, film buffs, car enthusiasts and anyone who enjoys spending and evening outdoors during Colorado’s summer.

Larimer Square and its restaurants are joining forces with BMW and the Denver Film Society to present an al fresco dining and film series beginning on June 6. The kickoff evening begins at 4 p.m. with BMW test drives, then a 6 p.m. screening of “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” and an 8:30 p.m. showing of “The Italian Job.”

Larimer Street will be closed between 14th and 15th Streets so that restaurants can seat and serve customers outside on the square. Two giant movie screens will be set up for the screenings. Filmgoers can test drive BMWs, visit the outdoor beer garden near Euclid Hall and stroll the street with food and drink.

The Larimer Square Summer Film Series will be held once a month from June through September. For more information and to purchase tickets, go to www.larimersummerfilmseries.com.
