The Inverness reveals $1.3-million makeover

March 30, 2015

The Inverness, A Destination Hotel, has announced it has completed the first phase of a multi-million dollar renovation project. The award-winning full-service hotel and conference center situated in suburban Denver underwent a $1.3 million renovation to its lobby, entrance, food and beverage outlets and event corridors.

“We are thrilled to unveil the first phase of our renovation project, bringing a fresh, new vibe to the hotel,” said George Fischer, managing director of The Inverness. “The new design incorporates distinct elements of Colorado and the West with a modern and renewed style. Our updated design aesthetic allows guests to feel like they’re visiting a mountain retreat with a city feel.”

Local interior architectural design firm Greenwood & Black were tasked with designing a complete overhaul of the hotel’s open and bright lobby and gathering spaces. With local artists filling the halls and covering the walls with various pieces, guests can now enjoy playful Western references throughout the striking new lobby and meeting areas at every turn. Denver-based artist Grant Louwagie contributed major artwork to the lobby, and other featured Colorado artists include Lisa Kowalski, Jeff Jackson, Chris Kates, Ken Elliot, Maura Allen, and Michael Baum.

The $1.3 million renovation to The Inverness lobby has fully transformed the space with a contemporary, light, airy feel. The modern design incorporates distinct elements that reflect traditional Colorado style, and a corner fireplace adds a cozy warmth.

Lobby spaces have been redesigned to accommodate single guests and small groups looking for a comfortable place for work, surfing the web or meeting friends for coffee or a drink. In addition to updated carpeting, the renovated lobby features new seating options including private individual areas, tables for small groups and a community table. Easy access to power outlets and the hotel’s wireless signal make working on computers at the ergonomically designed spaces a breeze.

Finally, the entrance has been updated with a vestibule with updated carpeting, new lighting, and sliding glass doors for ease of entrance. The Inverness has also added updated carpeting and furniture to the Ballroom and Meeting Room corridors, and supplemental lighting has been added to hallways.

Two of The Inverness’s eateries, the Garden Terrace and Fireside Bar & Grill, have been completely remodeled with updated furniture and carpet and a new design focusing on Western and native Colorado themes. Executive Chef Rodney Herwerth has added new entrees and menu items at Fireside, where guests also will find an ample selection of wine, craft spirits and beers, many sourced locally.

The lobby renovation also includes a new coffee and espresso shop featuring locally-roasted varieties from Allegro Coffee, one of Colorado’s coffee producers. Specialty coffee drinks are available from early morning until mid-afternoon, and the coffee shop also serves a small menu of muffins, pastries and light desserts.
